Free to play games are scams

The f2p model is basically the same model drug dealers use where they will offer you free drugs. They don't draw people in with good gameplay or anything important, they just use surface level bullshit such as pretty characters in gacha games or limited edition crossover characters from popular franchises in games like Fortnite. They have the same function as social media does, to keep people on there for as long as possible which is the reason why the value of these games are so shallow. What's a good way to keep people? By weaponizing FOMO with limited edition shit you'd have to gamble for. There's also the fact that these games could be collecting a ton of data about you, because you are the product.

You see streamers playing these games and you see content creators promoting them from being sponsored where they might give away special codes for some trinkets like extra gems or something; actual drug dealer type shit. The enjoyment from getting something you want from a "pull" is part of the experience, but why get enjoyment from gambling when you can get enjoyment from actually playing a good game? All that time spent chasing those things you want could have been time spent playing good games that don't need to pull that shit to keep you interested.

These games might be pretty and exciting, but it's like eating a fruit that looks nice, but full of spores and mycelium on the inside that will slowly make you sick. The best way to not feel like you're missing out on anything from these games is to not install them in the first place. Do not eat that deceptive fruit.
